The logo “Viticoltura Eroica / Heroic Viticulture” which appears on the labels of our “Battistelle” and “Roccolo del Durlo” wines, stands for the hard work that the production of these wines requires.
The vineyards are situated on such steep slopes, that mechanization is impossible and the labour costs are thus higher than elsewhere.
These hills, lined with old pergolas and supported by dry-stone walls built with our old and heavy volcanic rocks, are of outstanding natural beauty but need constant care and dedication.
To cultivate a heroic vineyard also means striving to conserve the environment, protect the landscape and maintain techniques that are the fruit of years of experience.
The use of this logo is granted by the research centre “Cervim.”
